Become the change

What is your purpose in life?

What do you want to do in this world?

What changes do you want to make in it?

Most people, when asked these questions, respond with the following:

“I dunno” 🤷🏻‍♂️

But I’m hoping that, since you’re here, you’re able to respond to at least one of those questions.

The reason I’m asking you all of this is because I recently realized what my answer to them was.

And the answers all amount to two things:

Helping others, and creating a better world.

Sounds funny, hearing that, doesn’t it? Especially coming from someone who started breathing only 17 years ago.

But, for me, my age means one thing and one thing only:

I have enough time to achieve what I set out to accomplish.

Since I was small, I knew I wanted to help people in some way. It’s just that, until now, I didn’t know the scale at which I’d do it.

Presuming AI doesn’t take control of our planet in 10 years, we have the best possible chance of impacting this world.

All we need to do is desire it.

But no one ever changed anything of importance alone.

And that, my friend, is the part where you come in.

No matter how much I’ll work and who I’ll become, I alone won’t even make a dent.

But I’m here to give others, like yourself, the view and hope of a different world.

If you’ve been alive for long enough, you’ve surely seen the problems that are facing us.

Out of which, the most important are:

-The rise of AI (yup…go look it up)

-Political discordance and hatred (not only between countries, but inside them as well)

-Lack of identity/lack of purpose (out of which the previous one springs)

These, among many others, are the things that create, or, better said, destroy, this shambled world of ours.

Since you’re subscribed to my newsletter, 2 things already put you further than most:

  1. You’re young

  2. You want to do something with your life

We’re the best category of people to start this change.

And I know how goddamn hopeful I sounded throughout this email.

But that’s because I don’t see pessimism as an option.

As I see it, we both have 2 choices:

  1. Accept that our world is horrible, and pray and hope for others to change it.

  2. Try creating a change, no matter how small. And maybe we’ll even succeed.

I’ve talked with a friend of mine about this, but he didn’t care to see these options for how they are.

In his mind, we’re just pawns, ones that cannot control anything other than (maybe) their own, personal lives.

And it’s true, we are.

But how do you think one gets to become a king?

By praying that the world around him will change?

No matter how improbable our chances of succeeding are,

Our lives are better spent at least trying to create a better world for our children,

Than simply telling them it’s fucked.

When your kids look you in the eyes, do you want to tell them:

“The world is fucked, and it’s only gonna get worse. Care for no one, but yourself. That’s the only way to survive.”?

Or tell them:

“No matter how hard the challenges of this world are, we’re working towards creating a better future. A future in which even simple pawns have the power to change the world.”?

You decide what life you want to leave your children with.

And as for what I will leave you with, here are the steps I thought of when exploring this idea:

1. Start with yourself:

Changing the world is an illusion if you aren’t someone capable of doing it.

Most look at this world, and expect it to change.

They complain about politicians, laws, taxes and so on.

But the one thing they all have in common is that they never bettered themselves.

Stop demanding the Universe to make a change in this world,

When you can’t even make one in yourself.

2. Find a channel:

No matter how great of a person you are,

The reach you have matters.

Change can’t only remain secluded to your group of friends.

Others have to see your message as well.

As I said earlier, you can’t fight this fight alone.

That’s why I’m writing this newsletter right now.

I want to inspire others like yourself to take action.

Go find a channel, and express your voice as best as you can.

Lead, if you don’t want to be lead.

3. Create a society:

Now that your voice has some influence, both in your country and worldwide,

You need to start gathering people.

You have to start making connections with others that share the:

-same ideas

-same views

-same drive

As you.

You need powerful and competent people to have here,

So you need to be very selective.

I believe this one to be the hardest part, but the most essential one of them all.

4. Organize protests and work from the interior:

know we’ve already become a little Hitler-esque, but bear with me.

People need to see that others are taking matters into their hands.

They need strong leaders to follow.

You have to be those for them.

A few hundred people walking down the streets is enough to fire the spark of change in others.

Working from the interior relates to politics.

Someone from your group should start working in that direction.

After all, we can’t protest if we don’t offer a better option in return.

And those are the ideas I have when it comes to changing the world.

If you think there’s anything in my vision I could improve,

Feel free to send me a message on Twitter (I’m still not calling it X)

And until next time, think what I said over,

And begin making a change.

Remember, the best time is now. Don’t miss it.
